LADY MAY

“Nickname”

This elegant mare was used up before she was left at auction, to be sold to whoever wanted what remained of her…. and she knew it. Standing tied for hours, she didn’t move a muscle, looking as if she was trying to elevate outside of her body and be somewhere else, anywhere else.

So very thin, with one remaining shoe, and so very tired. It was lucky that Rosemary Farm reps were at that auction, and saved her life, and instead of her getting on the wrong trailer to a dire end, she arrived at a comfy barn, with deep bedding in a stall, and food… lots and lots of food.

Today, a light has returned to her eyes. Lady May is close to 20 years old, reported to ride and drive, but all she needs to do now is recover her health and happiness. Believed to be a Saddlebred cross, she has light colored eyes and an elegant, quiet demeanor. She will spend her first winter with her young friend MacKenzie, while they both gain strength, and hopefully she will reveal more of her true self. She is safe for life and that is a beautiful thing.

If Lady May is the horse that moves your heart, consider signing up to feed her with a monthly sponsorship, and help the Sanctuary keep its promise. This mare deserves it.
